This genuine, antique, hand-knotted Persian Sarouk carpet will breathe life into any indoor space with its warmth, elegance and gorgeous colors.The somewhat whimsical, floral design is rendered in stunning and nearly irridescent shades of red and blue, along with multiple shades of beige.Weavers in the town of Arak, Iran, diligently hand-knotted the rug c. 1940's. 

The North American import firms color treated this rug, like most of the Sarouks imported during that time period, to modify the original color shade Thus, this type of rug is known as an 'American Sarouk' or 'Painted Sarouk'.

The rug is in very good antique condition. The design and colors show beautifully. The wool pile is remarkably full, with hardly any visible wear.
