• Used for scrap metal traffic in Scotland and North East England

• Air Pipes fitted for use in Speedlink trains, otherwise identical to ‘standard’ MDVs
• MDWs remained in service until 1992
• Four ran as ZDV/ZYVs in Departmental traffic, the last being withdrawn in 1999
